Warriors fall behind 1995-96 Bulls' record wins pace

For most of the regular season, the Warriors have looked primed to take down the 1995-96 Bulls' NBA wins record (72).

After their second loss in three games to the Pistons on Saturday, their chances of making history have taken a serious hit.

In fact, with their record falling to 37-4 at the halfway point of the season, Golden State is now behind the pace set by Michael Jordan's championship Chicago team.

In game No. 41 on the Bulls' schedule, a squad featuring Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and now-Warriors head coach Steve Kerr defeated the Suns to move their record to 38-3. Chicago would go on to lose seven more games in the second half.

The Warriors set an NBA record by starting the season 24-0, but have dropped four games in a little over a month. This week has been particularly rough, as Stephen Curry and co. have lost to a pair of teams either on the fringe of playoff contention (Detroit), or out of the postseason picture entirely (Denver).

The road ahead does not get any easier for Golden State, as they will visit two of the Eastern Conference's top-three teams next week: the Cavaliers (28-10) on Monday and the Bulls (23-16) on Wednesday.
