Why Curry's golf game suffered last summer: ‘It was all I could think about'

Remember when the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals?

Or have you blocked it out now that the Warriors captured the 2017 championship?

Well, losing to the Cavs is why Steph Curry played some of the worst golf of his life last summer.

“It was all I could think about,” Curry told Marcus Thompson of The Athletic. “I couldn't clear my mind.”

It's amazing what winning an NBA title can do for your golf game.

A couple of weeks ago, Curry shot a 68 in the final round of the American Century Championship in Tahoe.

He eagled the 18th.

''This is no exaggeration, this is the best complete round of my life,'' Curry said. ''I think I am one off from my best score, but considering the environment, how terrible I played earlier in the week, and to finish like this was the definitely the best round of my life.

"To finish like that on 18 was really, really fun. I'm going to be bragging about that for a long time.''

And on Thursday, he shot a 74 (+4) in the first round of the Web.com Tour's Ellie Mae Classic in Hayward.

The two-time NBA champion and two-time MVP registered three birdies on the day.

Steph Curry is not normal.
