This is the time of the year where teams bring in as many warm bodies as possible and see if anyone shows signs of breaking out.
The 49ers are bringing back long snapper Kyle Nelson, who played was with the team in 2011. He never played in a regular season game for the 49ers.

Nelson, who played tight end in college at New Mexico State, played in six games for the Chargers in 2012.
He will give starting long snapper Brian Jennings some competition in training camp.
To make room for him on the roster, the 49ers waived punter Anthony Santella. Santella (6-2, 190) had been signed by the 49ers on May 3.
