49ers gain third-round compensatory pick

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The 49ers received a compensatory pick at the end of the third round, the NFL announced Monday, giving them six of the top 100 picks in the upcoming draft.

The 49ers were awarded one compensatory draft pick based on a net loss of one qualifying free agent last year. Safety Dashon Goldson’s departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers accounts for the the 49ers’ additional third-round draft pick.

Here is a look at the 49ers’ scheduled 2014 draft selections:

1. First round: Own pick, No. 30 overall
2. Second round: Kansas City pick in 2013 Alex Smith trade, No. 56 overall
3. Second round: Own pick, No. 61 overall
4. Third round: Tennessee pick in 2013 draft day trade, No. 77 overall
5. Third round: Own pick, No. 94 overall
6. Third round: Compensatory, No. 100
7. Fourth round: Own pick, No. 129
8. Fifth round: Own pick, No. 170
9. Seventh round: New Orleans pick from Parys Haralson trade, No. 242
10. Seventh round: Carolina pick from 2012 Colin Jones trade, No. 243
11. Seventh round: Own pick, No. 245

2013 freee agent losses (5): Goldson, NT Isaac Sopoaga, NT Ricky Jean Francois, TE Delanie Walker, WR Ted Ginn.
2013 free agent gains (4): DL Glenn Dorsey, LB Dan Skuta, S Craig Dahl, K Phil Dawson.
