SANTA CLARA – Running back Frank Gore took part in limited practice Thursday while nursing slight ankle and knee injuries.

Gore has been on the injury report in recent weeks with a mild ankle sprain. He sustained a minor knee injury Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but did not miss any playing time.

Wide receiver Michael Crabtree took part in full practice while receiving treatment for ankle and wrist conditions, the 49ers reported.

Center Jonathan Goodwin did not practice. He was at the team’s practice facility but did not participate for an undisclosed reason that is not injury related, according to the team.

Wide receiver Mario Manningham (illness/knee) and defensive end Justin Smith (shoulder) did not participate. Smith typically does not take part in the 49ers’ first practice of the week.
