Halftime, halfway there, 2nd down with a year to go.

Pick your metaphor -- the San Francisco 49ers will keep building their new stadium in Santa Clara, which is now about halfway completed, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

About $37 million a month has been spent on construction this year, according to the newspaper.
