The 38-year-old agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions on Friday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Akers had his worst full season as a placekicker in 2012, connecting on just 69 percent of his field goal attempts.
After two seasons with the 49ers, the veteran was released on March 6. The 49ers replaced him with top free agent kicker Phil Dawson two weeks later.
