Jahri Evans, Antonio Cromartie, Chris Long and Matt Forte are just a few of the established NFL veterans to be released due to roster growth and cap constraints already this offseason.

Another quality player may become available before cuts are done.

When asked about the status of defensive end Mario Williams, Bills head coach Rex Ryan told NFL.com, "I'd love for Mario to be back, but how realistic is that?"

Williams has a cap figure of $19.9 million, and a base salary of $11.5 million in 2016, according to Over the Cap.

His cap figure and base salary are both team highs.

Williams, 31, started 15 games last season, recording 19 total tackles and five sacks. In his first three seasons with Buffalo, the 2006 No. 1 overall pick broke double-digit sacks each year.

The four-time Pro Bowler has 96.0 career sacks in 145 games.
