Report: 49ers FA Boldin visiting Washington

With a need for a big wide receiver that's lasted many years, Washington hosted free agent Anquan Boldin for a visit to Ashburn.

Boldin has spent the last three years with the San Fracisco 49ers, where despite some subpar QB play, he has continued to produce. What type of contract Boldin can expect will be tricky to decipher, as the 6-foot-1, 218-pound veteran wideout will be 36 years old when the season starts.

Boldin's visit to Washington, first reported by The Washington Post, comes as the team may be losing both its starting receivers after this season, as Pierre Garçon's contract expires and DeSean Jackson's deal holds opt-out clauses.

Never much of a speed threat, Boldin has proven to be one of the tougher wideouts to ever play in the league throughout his 13-year career. In the 2008 season, Boldin caught 11 touchdowns despite broken bones in his face. A Super Bowl winner in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens, it would seem Boldin is the type of physical, hard-working player Washington GM Scot McCloughan would want on his team.
