COMCAST SPORTSNET BAY AREA SETS NEW ALL-TIME GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS TV RATINGS RECORD
Warriors’ Game 6 Victory Attracts Audience of Over 200,000 Television Households and Sets New Network Record
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 3, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (@CSNAuthentic), the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” registered its highest-rated Golden State Warriors telecast in the history of the network – a 6.31 for its coverage of last night’s (May 2) Warriors’ Game 6 victory over the Denver Nuggets in the First Round of the 2013 NBA Western Conference Playoffs. The telecast averaged approximately 157,889 households (San Francisco DMA – San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) for the entire game and posted an 8.03 peak rating during the 10:15 p.m. quarter hour (approximately 200,881 households). The previous rating high was on 3/24/2008 when the network posted a 5.73 household rating for the Warriors-Lakers game.
In addition to the game ratings, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area posted impressive household ratings for its signature shows Warriors Pregame Live (1.96) and Warriors Postgame Live(2.38).
Warriors/Nuggets game telecasts on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area have averaged a 4.74 household rating (approximately 118,675 households) for Games 1-6 in the First Round of the Western Conference Playoffs. Warriors telecasts during the 2012-13 regular season averaged a 2.86 household rating (approximately 71,373 households), a 58 percent increase over the 1.80 average household rating posted at the end of the 2011-12 season.
