Daniel Cormier will fight at UFC 170 after all.
The UFC announced that newcomer Patrick Cummins will replace Rashad Evans as Cormier’s opponent. Evans, the former light-heavyweight champion, pulled out of the co-main event of the Feb. 22nd card in Las Vegas with a leg injury, The fight will be the first for Cummins inside the Octagon.
Cummins (4-0), a two-time All-American wrestler at Penn State, is considered one of the top light-heavyweight prospects in all of MMA, winning all four of his fights by 1st-round stoppage.
Cormier (13-0) will make his debut at light-heavyweight, and it is well speculated that a victory over Cummins will vault him to No. 1 contender status for the 205-lb title.
