Kapalua, HI -- Dustin Johnson, the unofficial master of 54-hole events, ends the week with a victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.  After 3 rounds, 18 birdies and 2 eagles Johnson finished 16 under to take the first win of the 2013 FedExCup season.  This is Johnson's seventh career victory on the PGA TOUR and he has won the last three 54-hole events.

His two other 54-hole wins came at the 2011 Barclays and 2009 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Johnson's win in the wind at Kapalua earns him 500 points for an early lead in the FedExCup standings and invitation to play the Tournament of Champions once again next year.

He has won at least one PGA TOUR event in the last six seasons, which is the second longest active streak behind Phil Mickelson, who has done it in nine consecutive seasons.  The 28 year old is also the first person since Tiger Woods to win in six consecutive years straight out of college.

The runner up was last years champ Steve Stricker who finished the three round tournament this year at 12 under. He had an impressive run and stunned the grandstand with a 63 yard chip shot for eagle on 18 at the end of round two. However his combined total wasn't enough to wedge in a win.  Stricker is planning to cut back the number of events he will be playing in, but is looking forward to what may be a less busy 2013 season.

If this week's tournament is a preview into the year of golf ahead, then 2013 will be an unpredictable and unforgettable season.
