The Oakland A's designated right-handed pitcher Trystan Magnuson for assignment after reinstating six players from the 60-day disabled list, the team announced Wednesday.Magnuson was one of the six players reinstated, but was then designated to clear room on the 40-man roster. The A's also took Brett Anderson, Dallas Braden, Daric Barton, Joey Devine and Evan Scribner off the 60-day DL.

Acquired in a trade for Rajai Davis after the 2010 season, Magnuson, 26, made his Major League debut on May 17 and turned in a scoreless inning of relief. In his second appearance two days later, he gave up six earned runs in two innings. Magnuson turned in a 3.09 ERA in 11.2 innings pitched following his first two appearances, then was placed on the 15-day DL with right shoulder tendinitis on Aug. 18 and missed the rest of the season. He had three separate stints with the A's in 2011.
In 30 games for Triple-A Sacramento last season, Magnuson went 4-2 with a 2.98 ERA.
