The A's made a move Saturday, acquiring right-handed reliever Fernando Nieve from the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations, CSNCalifornia.com has confirmed.

Nieve, 31, is a four-year MLB veteran who last pitched in the majors for the New York Mets in 2010. He's 8-11 with a 4.61 ERA in 99 career games.

It's a minor-league deal that will send Nieve to Sacramento to join the A's Triple-A affiliate. He was 5-3 with a 1.81 ERA in 22 games for the Columbus Clippers this year.

It was one of two moves for the Indians Saturday, who outrighted former Giants pitcher Joe Martinez to Triple-A.
