In 2002, during the height of the "Moneyball" era, Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane purchased his current home in Danville, CA. This week, it was listed for sale on Realtor.com for $1.895 million. Beane and his wife Tara reportedly bought the 4,836-square-foot mansion for $1.735 million 11 years ago.
Beane's home, built in 2001, is about a 40-minute drive away from O.co Coliseum. It boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, an office, and rumpus room. The spacious backyard features a large pool and an elevated spa. The two-story house sits on a .55 acre lot and contains 13 rooms and four fireplaces.
The mansion has accommodated superstars like Brad Pitt, who portrayed Beane in the 2011 film adaptation of Michael Lewis' book "Moneyball." In fact, Beane purchased the house while Lewis was shadowing him and writing the book. Pitt visited the A's GM in Danville while the movie was still in production, enjoying some of Beane's barbeque chicken.
