The Oakland A's recalled Adam Rosales from Triple-A Sacramento, clearing a space for the speedy infielder on the 40-man roster by designating infielder Vinnie Catricala for assignment.

Rosales cleared waivers and hit .240 over six games with the River Cats after being designated for assignment July 8. In 48 games with the A's this season, Rosales is hitting .200 with four home runs, five doubles and eight RBI.

The A's acquired Catricala from the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later or cash considerations on June 9. He hit .291 with a home run and 18 RBI in 33 games with the A's Double-A affiliate in Midland.
