The Los Angeles Angels signed outfielder Mike Trout to a one-year deal worth $1 million on Wednesday, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

The two sides are still working towards a long-term deal that is expected to be worth around $150 million over six years.

Trout, 22, made $510,000 in 2013 and finished second in the MVP voting for the second year in a row. The two-time All-Star and former Rookie of the Year owns a .314 average over three seasons with the Angels, collecting 62 home runs and 86 steals along the way.
