Wolff issues statement on proposed legal action

It was reported over the weekend that San Jose City councilman Sam Liccardo wants the city to sue the San Francisco Giants for blocking the Oakland A's from relocating to the south bay.

Initially, Lew Wolff declined comment.

However, the A's owner issued the following statement on Monday afternoon:

"To clarify recent articles relating to legal action by any party pertaining to the A’s desired move to downtown San Jose: We are a part of the MLB partnership and will continue to respect the Constitution and agreements that govern our participation in MLB. We seek our needed new venue based solely on the merits of the move and the benefits to MLB, the A’s and our fans and sponsors.”
