SAN FRANCISCO -- Shortstop Hiro Nakajima has been out since Tuesday with a strained left hamstring. Without playing in the A's final four games, it is unlikely he will be ready in time for Opening Day.
"We'll know for sure on Sunday," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "But it's very likely he'll go on the DL."
Nakajima played in 17 spring training games for Oakland. He hit .176 with four walks and 11 strikeouts. If he is placed on the DL, he will stay with the team until he is healthy and then start a rehab stint.
