CHICAGOAndrew Desjardins was scratched from the Sharks lineup on Sunday night, a day after taking a hit to the head from Dane Byers of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Todd McLellan spoke with NHL.com before the Sharks-Blackhawks game at the United Center, saying that Desjardins still needs to undergo some tests before he can return.

Hes in that stage -- that next-day stage -- where hes got to come in and weve got to re-evaluate him and get him to take his baseline test, McLellan said. Thats where he is right now.

Desjardins said after Saturdays game that he felt fine, but did not return for precautionary reasons. In 40 games this season, the rookie center has three goals and five assists for eight points and 29 penalty minutes.

Tommy Wingels returned to the lineup after sitting out the previous two as a healthy scratch.

Byers, meanwhile, has a phone hearing with the NHL on Monday and could face suspension.
