SANTA CLARA -- Cornerback Tarell Brown returned to limited practice Thursday after sitting out a day with a hamstring strain.

Wide receiver Mario Manningham is questionable for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, as he missed his second day with a right shoulder injury. Manningham left the 49ers' game Sunday against the St. Louis Rams with the injury.

Also, kicker David Akers, who has been limited with an unspecified pelvis condition, returned to full practice for the first time in two weeks.

Rookies A.J. Jenkins and LaMichael James could see their first playing time of the season. Both players wore their 49ers uniforms during practice on Thursday. Typically, each player has been seen in scout-team jerseys.
