The 49ers activated defensive tackle Lamar Divens off the physically unable to perform. He is scheduled to join his 49ers teammates during practice Friday in Santa Clara.
It's been an eventful offseason for Divens. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks allegedly struck him with a beer bottle three times in a June altercation. The Santa Clara District Attorney's office did not press criminal charges against Brooks, stating the evidence was too murky to take to a jury trial.
Divens asked Brooks for $1 million to resolve the issue, according to the DA's office. Brooks declined to pay the amount. Divens initially told police he wanted to press charges, but later decided it would be bad for the careers of both men, according to the DA's office.
Coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke declined comment this week on whether the 49ers will discipline Brooks. The NFL is reviewing the case under the personal conduct policy, a league spokesman said. Brooks has yet to make any comment on the case.
