Just dont expect the Raiders to make like new Denver Broncos czar JohnElway and announce candidates to the football world via Twitter. We wont be naming names at this time, said Raiders senior executiveJohn Herrera. There is no speed-up, or speed-down to the process now.Its just a matter of starting the procedure and there is no timetableon how long it will take.GUTIERREZ: Don't hold your breath on quick hire for Raiders
Still, the obvious candidate is offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, whofinished his first season as play-caller, is already on staff and, helped by an infusion of new talent, lifted the Raiders offense from aNo. 31 overall ranking in 2009 to No. 10 this past season. The runoffense was No. 2 in the NFL in 2010.RELATED: NFL Team statistics
Some coaches still on staff anticipate Jackson, who interviewed withthe 49ers before they hired Jim Harbaugh, to be the logical choice.Davis conducted in-house normal staff evaluations into the weekend. When we have a press conference announcing a new coach, Herrera said, we wont have music.
