Alright everyone. Only a few hours until Spartan Race. I don’t have any advice for you aside from "stay hydrated, “run hard,” and “have fun.” See you out there.

‘Twas the night before Spartan Race, when all through the Bay,

Not a co-worker was stirring, not even to partay;

The shoes were laid out, in their gym bags with care,

In hopes that the shin splints will be avoided running stairs;

The Spartans were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of barbed wire dance in their heads;

And my teammates aslumber, that’s me included,

Were ready for action, with no one excluded;

When from my nightstand there rose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter;

My morning alarm, “Careless Whisper”, had blared,

And not quite over the hills the sun had yet glared;

“6:00am already?” I grumbled and moaned,

My fiancée back to sleep, saying “Please, turn off your phone.”

But I heard the faint sound of neighborhood birdies,

And I knew my body was ready for burpees;

I stretched and I showered and left my house with glee,

Thinking about the pain and glory that would be coming to me;

Straight off to BART, and then AT&T Park,

After some more stretching I was ready to embark;

All ready to run, waiting for the whistle,

Our body poised and ready to fire like a missile;

Then the starter looked over with vaguely a threat,

“Merry Spartan Race to all, NOW GO OUT AND  SWEAT!”
