Update at 12:45 PT: The Queens County DA has confirmed Robert Guerrero was arrested and charged with gun possession at JFK.
UPDATE AT 12 PT: Fox New York's Lisa Evers is reporting Robert Guerrero will be charged by the Queens DA for four felonies after his gun arrest. She reports the fighter possessed three high-capacity unloaded magazines.
Charges are pending after Gilroy boxer Robert Guerrero was reportedly arrested at JFK airport in New York on a gun possession charge Thursday morning.
The New York Daily News first reported the arrest, citing a law enforcement source.
Guerrero was arrested at the Delta Airlines ticket counter after he disclosed he had the gun, a 40-caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun, according to Fox New York. Guerrero was reportedly carrying no ammunition.
ESPN reports the fighter has a license to carry a gun in California, but not New York. He is to be arraigned later Thursday.
Guerrero was believed to be headed to Las Vegas where he is scheduled to fight WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4.
