Reliever Jorge Rondon was optioned to the minors following Sunday's game to make room for Taveras.

The 22-year-old Taveras got his first major league call-up at the beginning of June, appearing in 11 games and hitting .189 with one home run and two RBI.
In 62 games for Triple-A Memphis this season, Taveras is hitting .318 with 18 double, eight home runs and 49 RBI.
