The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed Archie Bradley and Evan Marshall from Triple-A Reno on Sunday to bolster their pitching staff after using nine pitchers in a 14-inning loss to the San Diego Padres the night before.

To make room, Arizona optioned right-handers Jake Barrett and Matt Buschmann to Reno. Both pitched in Saturday night's 5-3 loss that took 5 hours, 25 minutes.

Bradley was 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in two starts for Reno while Marshall made three appearances and had a 7.71 ERA.

After Sunday's game in San Diego, D'backs manager Chip Hale announced that Bradley would start Monday against the Giants in San Francisco in place of scheduled starter Rubby De La Rosa.

Barrett had a 3.86 ERA in six relief appearances and Buschmann had a 2.08 ERA in three appearances.

The Diamondbacks had to go deep into their bullpen because starter Shelby Miller came out in the second inning after cutting his right index finger when his hand hit the ground on a follow through.
