Common sense dictates that MLB's defending champions would be favorites to repeat, but odds-makers are giving the San Francisco Giants the same chances to win in 2013 as the Braves, Yankees, Rangers and Reds.

The Giants' odds to go back-to-back as World Series Champions in 2013 are 14-1, according to online betting site Bovada. The site lists the defending world champions’ shot of winning the NL pennant at 7-1.

San Francisco fought back from two-game deficits in the NLDS and NLCS to win three consecutive games in each series, en-route to winning the 2012 fall classic, its second in three years (2010).

Five teams have higher odds of winning this year’s World Series, including three teams that didn’t reach the postseason in 2012. The Toronto Blue Jays are the favorites at 7-1, the Detroit Tigers follow at 8-1, both the Dodgers and Nationals find themselves with 17-2 odds and the Angels at 9-1.
