Pablo Sandoval homered in his second at-bat with the San Jose Giants on Friday night.

Pablo Sandoval is the latest San Francisco Giant to join the team's Single-A affiliate for a rehab assignment as he recovers from a strained foot.

Sandoval's debut with the team on Friday went much better than teammate Angel Pagan's first rehab game on Thursday.

Sandoval started at third base and faced Stockton Ports' 25-year-old lefty Shaeffer Hall.

After grounding out to third in the first inning, Sandoval connected on a solo home run to center field in the third.

Sandoval came to the plate one more time, grounding out third base in the fifth inning.

He was replaced on defense to start the bottom of the 5th inning.

Pagan, who played on Thursday night, aggravated his injured hamstring and was carted off the field.
