So Ross hit the free agent market in search of a three-year contract. He hasn't found it, and according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Ross has lowered his demands and is now seeking a two-year offer.

It's purely speculation at this point, but with Ross ready to cede contract years, it's possible he and the Giants could resume talks.

There are a lot of moving parts in the Giants outfield. This offseason, San Francisco has added outfielders Melky Cabrera and Angel Pagan. They also have Nate Schierholtz and utility players Aubrey Huff and Brandon Belt in the outfield mix.
Ross will always have a place in Giants history for his MVP performance in the 2010 NLCS, when he broke up back-to-back no-hit bids against the Phillies with home runs. But in 2011, Ross batted at a .240 clip in over 400 at bats.
The Reds and Cardinals are two teams that have been linked to Ross this offseason. And the fact the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting on Ross implicates the Braves as well.
