SACRAMENTO -- The hits keep on coming for the Sacramento Kings. Three games into an eight-game stretch that may decide the fate of the team’s playoff chances, the Kings are now beset by injury.

Starting point guard Rajon Rondo is questionable with right thumb tendinitis. The veteran guard is leading the league in assists at 12.0 per game, but he’s in danger of missing his second straight contest when the Kings face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday evening.

“I’m not sure,” George Karl told CSN California following practice on Sunday. “He did a little bit today, but he didn’t participate fully.”

The Kings are 1-2 this seasons without Rondo, but he isn’t the only Kings player who is ailing. Rudy Gay tweaked his right shoulder Friday night versus the Los Angeles Clippers and like his good friend Rondo, is questionable against the Thunder.

Gay is the Kings second leading scorer, averaging 18 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He’s missed seven games this season due to a variety of illnesses. The veteran forward is listed as questionable with a right shoulder strain.

A late add to the injury list is reserve guard Seth Curry who is listed as questionable with right foot sprain. The seldom used guard played well in Friday night’s loss to the Clippers, setting a new career-high in scoring with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and 3-for-4 from long range.

“I think Seth has earned more minutes,” Karl told CSN. “How I get him those minutes, I can’t tell you right now.”

Curry, brother of NBA MVP Stephen Curry, has had a tough time getting consistent minutes in Sacramento this season. He had a nice breakout game back in November, but then missed the next three games with an injured ankle.

“I’m very confident in my ability shooting-wise and scoring the ball and just making the right plays overall,” Curry said following practice on Sunday. “When I’m put on the floor, I can produce in a lot of different ways. It’s a matter of getting that confidence and getting more and more trust and getting an opportunity to make plays.”

None of the injuries are considered long-term. All three players are listed as day-to-day going forward and it would be a surprise if at least one or more of these guys suit up against Oklahoma City Monday night in Sacramento.
