The NBA announced on Thursday that Sacramento Kings All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins was named to the All-NBA Second Team, marking the second straight year he has been bestowed the honor. He joins Mitch Richmond (1993-94 – 1997-98) and Chris Webber (1998-99 – 2002-03) as the only Kings players in the Sacramento era to receive All-NBA honors in back-to-back seasons.

Cousins joins forwards Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, and guards Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers and Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers on the 2014-15 All-NBA Second Team.

In his sixth season with the Kings, Cousins averaged a career-high 26.9 points (.451 FG%, .333 3pt%, .718 FT%), 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.55 steals, 1.42 blocks and 34.6 minutes per game in starting all 65 games he played in. Cousins led the Kings in scoring average, rebounding and blocks per game. Among the NBA league leaders, Cousins ranked fourth in scoring, fifth in rebounding, fifth in double-doubles (47) and first in personal fouls drawn (8.9). Cousins was named to the 2016 NBA Western Conference All-Star Team, becoming the first Kings player to participate in consecutive All-Star Games since Peja Stojakovic was named three straight years (2002-2004). Twice during the 2015-16 season Cousins was named Western Conference Player of the Week (November 16 and January 25).
