SACRAMENTO -- Veteran Ty Lawson was in noticeable pain after getting popped in the face by a Grizzlies player during the second quarter of the Kings’ 112-98 loss to Memphis on Saturday.
The Kings were forced to take a time out and Lawson was immediately taken to the locker room for X-rays. Initial tests were inconclusive, but a cat scan later revealed a stable, non-displaced maxillary sinus fracture.

Lawson has been a bright spot of late and his absence was noticeable in the second half of the loss to the Memphis. The 29-year-old point guard signed a one-year deal with Sacramento over the off-season and has averaged 8.1 points and 4.3 assists in 25.3 minutes per contest both as a starter and off the bench for coach Dave Joerger.
He is listed as day-to-day moving forward.
