Cal has suspended starting forward Richard Solomon, according to a statement released by the university on Friday. He will not be available for this weekend's game with San Diego State.
According to coach Mike Montgomery in a press release that Solomon was suspended for "conduct contrary to values of the university and athletic department.""We expect our student-athletes to adhere to a high standard of behavior," Montgomery said in the release. "In this particular instance, that was not the case."Solomon is averaging six points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 11 blocks. Freshman forward David Kravish is the likely choice to replace Solomon in the starting lineup.
The 24th-ranked Bears travel to San Diego for a Sunday 2 p.m. game against the Aztecs.
