Seattle (AP) --Chris Wondolowski scored and Joe Cannon picked up his fourthstraight shutout and fifth in six games to lead the San JoseEarthquakes to a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.Cannon stopped 18 shots in extending his shutout streak to 363minutes. He hasn't allowed a goal since the 87th minute of a 3-2 lossat Chivas USA on April 24. Last year, San Jose had just three shutouts all by Cannon.San Jose (5-2-1, 16 points), which started the day in a four-way tiefor second in the Western Conference, is unbeaten in its last fourgames (3-0-1).A long throw-in from deep down the right side in the 12th minute ofthe first half put the ball at the feet of Brandon McDonald in thepenalty area. He lofted it into the 6-yard box, and Bobby Burlingback-headed across to Wondolowski at the top left corner. He drilled itlow behind Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller for his fifth goal of theseason.The goal was San Jose's only shot of the first half and one of just three the Earthquakes had for the game.Seattle (3-4-1, 12 points), was coming off a 1-0 victory at New Yorklast Saturday and has yet to string together back-to-back victoriesthis season. The Sounders were shut out at home for the second straighttime and for the third time in six home games this year.
