ALAMEDA – Andre Holmes has been added to the Raiders 53-man roster. The receiver was removed from the reserve-suspended list Monday on the deadline to do so.
The Raiders made room for Holmes by releasing third-string quarterback Matt Flynn.

Holmes was suspended for the season’s first four games after violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Holmes tested positive for an amphetamine this offseason and his suspension was announced in late July.
The second-year receiver flashed potential during the preseason, enough for the team to take a chance on him. Holmes was allowed to practice with the team last week, and showed he was in football shape and ready to contribute right away. That cemented his place on the active roster.
While Flynn is the official corresponding move, it’s expected that Juron Criner – inactive in each game this season – will be cut soon for a veteran quarterback.
David Carr and Pat White are auditioning with the team early this week.
