ALAMEDA – Chuck Pagano has been impressed by what’s he’s seen from Terrelle Pryor.

The Indianapolis Colts head coach has examined him closely this week in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Raiders, and the 24-year old creates several problems for the Colts defense.

“The guy is an excellent athlete,” Pagano said. “We know that he’s a big, strong guy who is incredibly mobile. He can create, can make all the throws and launch one a country mile.”

Raiders coach Dennis Allen hasn't formally named Pryor the starter, but he's reportedly the guy. The Raiders also run different packages to take advantage of Pryor’s athleticism. That includes the trendy read option, and plays that get Pryor moving. That’s when Pryor can really cause problems.

“They’re running some read option, which offers another set of difficulties in terms of being assignment sound on defense,” Pagano said. “They do a great job of moving Terrelle around on bootlegs and rollouts and in the read option. Sometimes, when he drops back to pass he can take off. You have to be disciplined with your pass rush guys to contain this guy. He can scramble to run or scramble to throw the thing down the field. We definitely have our hands full.”
