Raiders activate CB Bartell, add RB Stewart

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Raiders announced a pair of moves Saturday morning to prepare them for Sunday's game against the Ravens, activating cornerback Ron Bartell from injured reserve and promoting running back Jeremy Stewart from the practice squad.

Both players will be available to play Sunday.

To make room on the teams active roster, the Raiders Saturday waived CB Pat Lee and placed CB Shawntae Spencer on injured reserve.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Bartell was placed on injured reservedesignated to return on Sept. 15 after suffering a shoulder-blade injury in the season opener vs. San Diego Sept. 10. He returned to practice with the Silver and Black on Oct. 31.

An unrestricted free agent signing after spending seven seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Bartell has played in 90 career games with 66 starts. His career totals include eight interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 66 passes defensed.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Stewart, who wears No. 32, was signed to the Raiders practice squad on Sept. 3 after spending training camp with the New York Jets. He originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a non-drafted rookie free agent out of Stanford.
