ALAMEDA -- The Raiders signed linebacker and third-round draft pick Sio Moore to a contract, the team announced Thursday.
After the team's three-day minicamp, the high-energy Moore appears to be in line for a starting outside linebacker position alongside middle linebacker Nick Roach and outside linebacker Kevin Burnett.
After Day 1 of minicamp on Tuesday, head coach Dennis Allen had this to say about Moore: "He’s still got a lot of rookie mistakes. He still has a lot of learning to do but I like the potential there, I like the upside there. I like some of the versatility that it brings."
The 23-year old from the University of Connecticut wore No. 55 in minicamp, and left the field in the nickel formation in favor of third cornerback Joselio Hanson.
The Raiders signed six draft picks last week, and have only cornerback D.J. Hayden (first round), offensive lineman Menelik Watson (second round) and quarterback Tyler Wilson (fourth round) left to sign.
