The Raiders signed defensive end Damontre Moore on Monday morning, adding yet another piece to a well-stocked defensive line. The 23-year old edge rusher was released by the Miami Dolphins on May 2 and added to a Raiders mix that already includes Khalil Mack, Bruce Irvin and third-round pick Shilique Calhoun.
Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio announced the addition on the Jim Rome Show.
Moore was the New York Giants’ third-round draft pick in 2013, but never proved a locker-room fit. He was involved in multiple altercations with teammates, and was waived in Dec. 2015 for violating team rules following an incident with veteran Cullen Jenkins over headphones.

He was claimed by the Dolphins, but played just three games in their uniform.
Moore has 45 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in a three-year NFL career spent as a rotational pass rusher.
Moore is 6-foot-5, 250 pounds and should be an edge player at linebacker or defensive end in passing situations.
Versatile pieces Mario Edwards Jr. can also rotate off the edge, but the Raiders were looking for pass rushers while Aldon Smith serves a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
