SAN FRANCISCO -- The most positive signs for the Giants organization this season have come from the ballpark an hour away from Oracle Park, and on Friday one of the San Jose Giants' stars was named to a midseason All-Star team.
Heliot Ramos was one of three San Jose Giants named to the North Division team for the California League All-Star Game. Ramos, the No. 2 prospect in the organization, was joined by right-handers Aaron Phillips and Frank Rubio.
A knee injury sidelined Ramos in May, but he still has seven homers and 16 RBI in 28 games for San Jose. Ramos has a .302/.420/.594 slash line in his first season in High-A, showing improved plate discipline to go along with the power.

Phillips, 22, has a 4.01 ERA in 11 starts in the hitter-friendly league. He has allowed just four earned runs over his past five starts. Phillips was taken in the ninth round of the 2017 draft. Rubio, 24, has seven saves in as many appearances and has allowed just one earned run in 29 relief innings. The 29th-round pick has 34 strikeouts.

The best prospect in San Jose is catcher Joey Bart, but he has played in just 12 games because of a hand injury. Bart has a .915 OPS.
