Say this about Trent Baalke. The former 49ers general manager certainly has a type.
Baalke was dogged for drafting players with extensive injury histories -- specifically, torn ACLs -- during his six seasons running the 49ers' front office.
In his first draft in the same position with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baalke used two of his first three picks on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft to select players who -- you guessed it -- sustained torn ACLs during their collegiate careers.

The Jaguars named Baalke their general manager in January. Ahead of his hiring, NBC Sports Bay Area's Brian Witt wrote that "49ers fans won't be surprised if the Jags also draft a player coming off a torn ACL. Or two."
As of this writing, the Jaguars have drafted two players who sustained torn ACLs. As of this writing, the Jaguars still have five picks remaining.

Baalke's draft wasn't all bad, landing Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick and selecting Clemson running back Travis Etienne at No. 25 overall.
Of course, he'll never escape the memes.
The 49ers will play the Jaguars at some point during the 2021 season. Expect a lot more ACL jokes during game week.
