After knocking off UCLA in game 1 of the Los Angeles regional, the USF Dons lost the rematch against the Bruins on Sunday afternoon, 4-1, ending what was a memorable 2011 season. The Dons could only muster two hits off of UCLA's Adam Plutko and Nick Vander Tuig, but did manage to get the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th.

On Saturday, the Dons fell to UC Irvine, while UCLA defeated Fresno State, setting up the second matchup with the Bruins in three days. The win over UCLA on Friday was USF's first ever NCAA Tournament win.
