Curry hopes Panthers ‘let me storm field' after Super Bowl win

Stephen Curry is on record as predicting a 24-17 victory for his Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 Sunday in Santa Clara.

If that result comes to fruition, Curry, who has said he plans to be in attendance, likely won't be able to contain his excitement.

So, in a perfect world, how would he like to celebrate?

"Hopefully they let me like storm the field. I'll be there in person. That would be pretty special," Curry told Sports Illustrated's NBA Editor Matt Dollinger recently.

In reality, Curry doesn't know how he'd react if Carolina hoists the Lombardi trophy at Levi's Stadium.

"I don't really know what I'd do. I remember watching them in the Super Bowl in 2004. I was watching at home and (New England Patriots kicker Adam) Vinateri crushed our dreams of winning a championship. But this time around, I think it'll be a little different, so I need to get my celebration in check," Curry said.

Asked to break down how he thinks Super Bowl 50 will play out, Curry gave a detailed answer.

"I feel it's going to be a defensive battle for pretty much the whole game. I always say the first team to score 20 is probably going to win. I know Cam (Newton) is going to do his thing, run the offense, make a couple a plays that will get us over the hump. And our defense will show up and hopefully get in Peyton's head a little bit. It's going to be a fun game to watch, two really good team. One game decided it all, so anything can happen. But I'm pretty confident my Panthers can get it done," Curry said.

Does Curry, who just went through a championship run, have any advice for his good friend Cam Newton?

"You want to enjoy the experience and have fun. It's obviously a pressure situation, but you can't be too serious about it. You gotta be the same team and person and player that you've been the entire run up until the championship and allow that to let you get the job done. Enjoy the moment. But be locked in, be focused, but to play in Super Bowl and NBA championship, that's an unbelievable experience. You want to be able to take it all in and do your job," Curry said.
