OAKLAND –- When the Warriors and Pistons take the floor Monday night, the crowd at Oracle Arena should prepare for a clash of styles.

While the Warriors (7-0) are a run-and-shoot squad, averaging a league-high 115.7 points per game so far this season, Detroit (5-1) is a ground-and-pound unit, allowing an average of 94 points per game, fifth-lowest in the NBA.

The Pistons are coming off a stirring victory Sunday night in Portland, where they overcame a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit by outscoring the Trail Blazers 41-11 down the stretch.

[POOLE: Warriors face Van Gundy, who was always second choice to Kerr]

The Warriors can be expected to push hard and often to see how much Detroit has left after such an energetic comeback.

OPENING LINE

Warriors by 13.

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Festus Ezeli vs. Andre Drummond -- The last time the Warriors saw Drummond, back on March 11, he totaled 22 points and 25 rebounds. He looks even better. He has had a double-double in every game, is grabbing seven more rebounds per game than anyone else in the NBA – and has won Eastern Conference Player of the Week in each of the first two weeks of the season. Warriors center Festus Ezeli will welcome any help he can get from Andrew Bogut, who is expected to return after missing six games with a concussion.

INJURY LIST

Warriors: C Andrew Bogut (concussion) is listed as questionable. F Kevon Looney (hip surgery) is out indefinitely.

Pistons: G Jodie Meeks (R foot fracture) and G Brandon Jennings (L Achilles surgery) are listed as out.

SERIES HISTORY

The Warriors have won the last eight meetings, their longest win streak over the Pistons since winning 10 straight from 1970-72. Detroit has scored fewer than 100 points in each of those eight losses.

QUOTABLE

“Most of us on the bench were just like the fans. We were just getting excited seeing them play like that and dominate. We know they can do that, so we expect to see that again.” – Pistons reserve guard Steve Blake, a former Warrior, on the comeback in Portland.
