The Warriors have set a new franchise record with 13,400 season tickets sold, nearly 4,000 more than Golden State had confirmed at this time last year, according to the San Francisco Business Times.
Second-year head coach Mark Jackson led the Warriors to a 47-35 mark, good enough for the franchise's third playoff appearance in the last 20 years. Golden State beat the Denver Nuggets in the first round, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference semifinals.
The Warriors will have around 4,600 individual tickets available per home games once they cap season tickets at 15,000.
“Now we’re asking at what number do we cap season ticket sales,” team president Rick Welts told the Business Times.“That is not a discussion we would have had two years ago.”
