Warriors' Barbosa expected back vs Bulls, Livingston maybe

OAKLAND -– Light on available guards Thursday night in Los Angeles, the Warriors will have reinforcements available for Friday’s night game against Chicago.

Leandro Barbosa, who was a late scratch on Thursday after experiencing flu-like symptoms, is expected to be available to face the Bulls, interim coach Luke Walton said in his pregame news conference.

And Shaun Livingston, the team’s top guard off the bench, also might be able to play, Walton said. Livingston, coping with a strained hip flexor, participated in pregame workouts at Oracle Arena but no decision is expected until shortly before tipoff.

The absence of Livingston and Barbosa on Thursday, along with the early foul trouble of Steph Curry and Draymond Green, ruined Walton’s usual substitution pattern.

Given the veteran status of Barbosa (13th season) and Livingston (12th), Walton indicated he’d like to be more careful with their minutes as the season unfolds.
