On Thursday afternoon, Russell Westbrook signed a contract extension with Oklahoma City.

Kevin Durant will not be sending his former teammate a congratulations message.

"Nah, that's a touchy subject," the Warriors' forward told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. "I'll see once everything dies down."

Westbrook was reportedly "ticked off" about Durant's decision to leave Oklahoma City for Golden State.

At his introductory press conference in Oakland on July 7, Durant answered questions about his relationship with Westbrook.

"I talked to him. Obviously, it's tough," Durant said. "We were teammates for so long and had a lot of great memories. I'm sure he wasn't happy about the decision but he respected it as my friend.

"Our relationship was great, we had great years man -- something that you can never take away from us ... I couldn't consider everybody's feelings at this point...

"I just tried to focus on me but also realize that the relationships that I had, I still wanted those to be -- I'm sure they won't be the same..."

Westbrook was slated to become an unrestricted free agent next summer, but his new deal now runs through the 2018-19 season.

He can opt out and become a free agent in the summer of 2018.

Durant signed a two-year deal with the Warriors, with a player option on Year 2.
